My Default Mode Network says THANK YOU, DAVE. Now I finally know what’s NOT WRONG with me… I’m just a wise squirrel - capable of massive awesomeness, next-level chaos and failure, and absolute nothingness - all at the same time. Now I can see glimpses of why I’ve done what I’ve done, do what I do, procrastinate, clutter, avoid, worry, paralyze, flood, stim, blurt out, bounce… I’ve found my people. From the bottom of my heart - Thank you, Dave.

Great Listen! Great resource for encouragement and support for anyone engaging with ADHD in any area of their life!

Stories matter. This podcast has them. In case my ADHD brain forgets to update the following statement: don’t be fooled by the fact there are currently only a few episodes. Dave Delany is a pro. A great podcaster, speaker and host. You will be stepping into an immersive conversation from the get go. Late diagnosis brings with it amplified anxiety and deeply grooved habits. Building confidence and finding new ways forward is helped immeasurably by hearing the stories and approaches of others who have trodden this path. I love hearing the guests approaches and their ideas forged from their experiences. I greatly appreciated to opportunity to hear both ideas and strategies but even simply just the similarities of experience. It made me feel less alone and that’s gold dust.

Dave speaks to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Just listened to your episode of Wise Squirrels with Peter Shankman. OMG Your show is fabulous and you are freaking amazing. Thank you for doing this show. I've known about my "superpower" since I was a kid, but so much of what you talk about hits home to me too.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Genuine. I had the chance to meet Dave (well, over zoom), and he was so genuine, real, generous and personable. I really appreciated him and can’t wait to keep listening.

Great podcasts and resource. This podcast is a great resource! So much ADHD information focuses on kids, so it is helpful to have this show for adults. Especially adults diagnosed later in life. Thanks for expanding the conversation. And super cute squirrel!

What made it your favorite?

Even though I am 64 years old, I still found so much information that was helpful in my daily work life, plus a few nuggets that might help down the road with my undiagnosed 5 year old grandson.

I'm not formally diagnosed with ADHD, but after hearing you on the BTDL podcast, your podcast has been resonating with several areas of my life and caused me to schedule to see if I am fit for diagnosis at 40. The laughter and openness with Tamara, and the nitty gritty of the experience made this my favorite episode. It was like chatting with friends who get you.

Like most of the Wise Squirrels I’ve listened to, this one covered area (ideas/thoughts and behaviors) that hit really close to home. I have several favorites!

Dr. Rosier upbeat personality, laughter, fun, and reassurance.

This was the "OMG...it's like she's in my brain" episode. It helped to understand that we need to give ourselves some grace. I also listened to her audiobook.

The Root Down Presentation feedback

“Great talk. Opens your eyes to possibilities and reasoning to pursue answers.” - audience survey.

“I had the opportunity of hearing The Root Down speech at the Mental Health Marketing Conference and it was fantastic! I learned so much about ADHD and it gave me a sense of pride in owning my own form of neurodivergence. The slide about the benefits of ADHD and claiming your superpower was so great in helping with that. His humor was well placed and overall it was extremely engaging and informative even late in the event after lunch!” - LinkedIn recommendation from Reggie D. Ford.

He has a sense of humor that serves to move the presentation forward and keep the audience entertained and engaged. Dave is intent on providing value to the people who attend his presentations. He's well-versed in adapting his presentation to the needs of the audience. As an event producer and promoter myself, Dave is easy and reasonable to work with, even when surprises come up or things don't go exactly as planned. He's exactly the type of speaker I look for when I'm booking experts who will bring value to my audience.” - LinkedIn recommendation from Steve Turney.

“As more and more adults realize they may have adult ADHD, we will all need to better understand neurodiversity, ADHD, and strategies for coping. Dave Delaney is a great guide to these issues with his presentation, "The Root Down," encouraging audiences to understand ADHD, break stigmas, understand testing, raise awareness, and learn to engage their own neurodivergence as a positive! Dave is engaging, relatable, knowledgeable and fun. I would absolutely recommend him as a speaker, and for this particular program.” - LinkedIn recommendation from Tara Rolstad.

Emails and Feedback

I have to tell you...I've been meaning to reach out to thank you for being so open about your ADHD diagnosis. After our conversation, I started to listen to your Wise Squirrels podcast. I made an appointment with my primary provider and asked for a referral to a counselor to get a screening done. I was recently diagnosed myself and am now seeing a counselor to try some tactics to help me manage my "squirrel moments". This was such a freeing experience and I wouldn't have gotten to this point had you not told me about your experience! I tell you, I've been in this ADHD brain for a lot of years, and just always thought I was able to stay in control of my impulsivity. I had to humble myself quite a bit. I believe that God puts people in our lives to help us stay on the path He has made for us, and this it was completely intentional for us to connect and have that talk. I'm so grateful!

Just reaching out to say that I'm glad I found your Wise Squirrels ADHD podcast and web site. I, too, was diagnosed late in life so I've been trying to learn more about it wherever I can. I'm 59 and learned of my diagnosis only a few years ago while being treated for anxiety and depression. Having anxiety in some ways actually helped me early-on to come up with ways to cope with forgetfulness, memory and focus issues, difficulties judging time, dealing with deadlines, etc. It's just I was a wreck for so long, so I was grateful to finally get treatment and to learn more about the issues I have.

I just recently started listening to your podcast so you may have already covered other topics of interest to me. I'm particularly interested in learning more about coping with ADHD in terms of work, and when running one's own business. I have had my own business (xxxxx) for xx years now. I find that working on my own has been much more satisfying than the years prior where I worked as a full time employee in my field. But it's been challenging for me; I have always felt I could have done better if only I could just "get it together." As you know, from working for yourself, there are a million different things that could be done in a day as well as different potential directions to go in. Despite my goals, planners, calendars, To Do Lists, reminders, deadlines, etc., it remains a challenge for me to effectively prioritize, plan and execute during those times when I'm not in the midst of a client project. I'm great at getting stuff done for clients, but I'm "consistently inconsistent" at doing stuff for myself and proactively running my business (i.e getting motivated to work on my website, find new clients, network, etc). Yet somehow, I've made it this far, remain in business, and things always seem to work out.

Thanks again for all you do for this podcast. I can imagine it is a lot of time and effort spent doing this as well as maintaining your other work and family life as well. XXX
